Vertical Aquaponics comes to the UK, Unit 84

Unit 84 is the UK’s first aquaponic, vertical urban farm.
Based inside an industrial warehouse in Beckton, the farm will combine two well-established farming practices – aquaculture (farming fish) and hydroponics (growing plants in a nutrient solution without soil) in a recirculating system.

Our 6,000 square feet of growing space will produce more than 20,000 kg of sustainable salads and herbs (enough for 200,000 salad bags) and 4,000 kg of fish each year.

The farm will also include a visitor centreDSC_0124_Credit _Mandy Zammit allowing people to understand more about sustainable food production in cities, and means that our business can increase its social and environmental impact in the local community and engage more people in learning about urban farming
